Nuts would lower bad cholesterol


The diet could help control bad cholesterol. Indeed, nut consumption would increase good cholesterol and decrease bad.

Do not forget to put nuts in salads, in your muesli or nibble on snacks. For these oilseeds would be effective in reducing bad cholesterol and raise good, according to results of a study published in the medical journal JAHA.

Nuts already have an excellent reputation. We recognize them as a boon to divide by 4 the risk of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, to be a source of fertility and decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease. This new study reveals that reduce bad cholesterol and increase the good.

Remember to put nuts in your meals

The researchers from the University of San Diego (USA) followed for a year, 245 women, 22 to 72, overweight or obese. Participants followed three different diets, one rich in nuts. The scientists conducted their observations six months after the start of the study.

The findings of this study showed that women have lost as much weight regardless of diet (8% of their initial mass). The scientists also found that nut consumption helped to reduce bad cholesterol and increase good. However, nuts are high in calories, they should be consumed in moderation to avoid weight gain.
